JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Franklin, LA • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 04/01/2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM COVERAGE DATES • April 1, 2026 – Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 32 patients per day; 12,130 annual volume • Admissions: Approximately 3% • Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate • Case Mix: General emergency medicine cases FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 7 ED beds • EMR System: T System EV • Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped emergency department • Specialty Backup Available: OB/GYN, Cardiology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics • Support Staff Available: 24-hour MD coverage • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General emergency medicine procedures • Trauma and critical care stabilization • Airway management and resuscitation JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active LA license • Board: BC or BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine • DEA: Active DEA with LA address • Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS • Experience: Minimum 2 years of ER experience • Other Qualifications: Willing to work days and nights; minimum 10–15 shifts per month DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency department coverage for 12-hour day or night shifts • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the ED • Coordinate care with specialty backup services as needed • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the T System EV EMR • Participate in interview process with Medical Director and Hospital Administration
Requirements
- Active LA license
- BC or BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
- Active DEA with LA address
- ATLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience
- Willing to work days and nights
- Willing to work minimum 10–15 shifts per month
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency department coverage for 12-hour day or night shifts
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the ED
- Coordinate care with specialty backup services as needed
