JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Morgan City, LA • Service Setting: Emergency Department • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: April 11, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM; 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) COVERAGE DATES • Ongoing coverage; minimum 3 shifts required PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 60 patients per day; ~22,000 annual visits • Admissions: Approximately 6.6% • Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine cases in a community hospital setting FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 12 ED beds • Trauma Level: Level III • EMR System: Epic (Ochsner) • Office Equipment Available: CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, lab services • Specialty Backup Available: ENT, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Surgery, Pulmonology, Oncology, Hematology • Support Staff Available: NP/PA support coverage (10-hour shifts during week) • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 45–60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Emergency medicine procedures across full acuity range JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active LA license required • Board: Board Certified in EM, FM, or IM (EM experience required) • DEA: LA DEA and controlled substance license required • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, BLS • Experience: Minimum 2 years of emergency medicine experience • Other Qualifications: Residency-trained (EM/FM/IM); must meet all facility credentialing requirements DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medical care across all patient populations • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute conditions • Perform emergency procedures as needed • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and specialty backup services • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active LA license required
- Board Certified in EM, FM, or IM (EM experience required)
- LA DEA and controlled substance license required
- ACLS, PALS, ATLS, BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of emergency medicine experience
- Residency-trained (EM/FM/IM)
- Must meet all facility credentialing requirements
