Bargaining Unit: UUP Job Summary: The Department of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS), Attending Physician. The successful candidate will: Perform all functions of an attending Emergency Medicine Physician in all areas of the Emergency Department (Main, Fast Track, Pediatrics). Perform medical management, utilization of appropriate consultations, and timely patient dispositions while appropriately supervising resident physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Create timely and accurate medical records communicating the care rendered and decision-making process. Work collaboratively and adhere to the highest professional standards.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor Degree.
  • New York State Medical Licensure.
  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Board Eligible if Residency was completed within the prior 5-years.
  • If Board Certified, must maintain PALS Certification; if Board Eligible, must maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS Certifications.
