About The Position

Harney District Hospital of Burns, OR is looking to hire an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our EMS Department. This position works 3 24 hour shifts and has 6 days off. As a member of Harney District Hospital's emergency medical team, this person will provide pre-hospital care and transportation of sick or injured persons to a medical facility. Requirements

  • Knowledge of emergency medical delivery methods and operation of specialized emergency medical equipment.
  • Knowledge of safe driving techniques, especially with specialized emergency medical vehicles.
  • Knowledge of computer applications software and general office procedures.
  • Equivalent to a high school education supplemented with additional specialized emergency medical training, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
  • Emergency Medical Technician License issued by the State of Oregon.
  • AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certificate.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Diploma copy or official transcript of highest academic achievement in order to meet the requirements mandated by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988.
  • Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent (within six months of appointment).
  • State of Oregon approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course completion of equivalent (within six months of appointment).

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of BTLS, PHTLS, or equivalent at time of hire.
  • Previous emergency medical experience in a hospital environment.
