The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies under the supervision of staff nurses and/or physicians. The EMT also assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice and helps maintain a safe environment, performing under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.
