About The Position

To administer Basic Life Support and emergency medical techniques; to serve as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on a Basic Life Support/Mobile Intensive Care Unit (BLS/MICU); to continue education relative to medical advancements; and to maintain ambulance vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

• Possession of a Texas Department of State Health Services ("DSHS") Emergency Medical Technician - Basic Certificate
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
• Possession of or ability to obtain within six months, an American Heart Association - Basic Life Support ("BLS") HealthCare Provider ("HCP") CPR Certificate
• Completion of NIMS courses 100, 200, 700, and 800
• Must maintain continuing education hours within DSHS guidelines
• Must exercise professional initiative to stay current with new drugs and treatment procedure guidelines
• Must maintain ability to carry out standing orders within Medical Director's discretion

Nice To Haves

• One or more years Emergency Medical experience as an EMT
• High School Diploma or GED
