About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Concentra will play a vital role in providing emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings. This position requires delivering high-quality patient care in line with established protocols, performing triage, and ensuring a welcoming and respectful experience for every patient. The EMT will work in a fast-paced environment, making quick decisions and providing one-on-one patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced EMT.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • 3 years of job-related experience, including 911 experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Demonstrated medical knowledge and ability to administer first aid/emergency care.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, and Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications.
  • OSHA safety certifications or experience.
  • ARC/CPR Instructor certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing as needed.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and conducting ancillary testing.
  • Perform rapid screening tests as required, with training provided.
  • Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients as needed.
  • Assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care.
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Administer prescribed first-aid treatment and perform activities such as application of splints and administration of oxygen.
  • Communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities for further treatment instructions.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices.
  • Maintain supplies and clean equipment in the onsite clinic.
  • Complete applicable training, including clinical competency training.
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or supply needs.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times during their visit.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend client safety team meetings as required.
  • Assist clients with wellness activities.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
