Requirements

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and athletic team members
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and patient care activities
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with patient mobility
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • 3+ years EMT experience in athletic or event based medical care
  • Worked autonomously as an EMT
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (Required)
  • EMT Certification & State License where applicable (Required)
  • Mandated Reporter Training

Responsibilities

  • Provide autonomous sideline coverage for a variety of high school sporting events within EMT scope of practice, including but not limited to:
  • Emergency response to cardiac situations
  • Evaluation and intervention of concussions, in accordance with state licensure laws
  • Monitoring and intervention of heat related illness
  • Evaluation & treatment of skin abrasions, wounds, and other topical conditions
  • Evaluation and treatment of soft tissue musculoskeletal injuries
  • Document patient information accurately and timely
