About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) administers first aid treatment and arranges for the transport of sick or injured persons to medical facilities, working as a member of an emergency medical team. The EMT provides protective services by making periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. The role involves preserving order and enforcing regulations pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. The EMT may be assigned a service grade or rank in a chain of command in conformance with contract requirements or to facilitate the delivery of service, according to business necessity.

Requirements

• Must have EMT-1 Certification.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a reliable means of communication.
• Must have a reliable means of transportation.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
• Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of related Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred.
• Ability to meet state, county, and municipal certification requirements for EMT - Basic (EMT-1) level.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid treatment at the site of emergency or in a specially equipped vehicle.
• Determines the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures.
• Communicates with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities for further instructions.
• Controls access to client sites or facilities through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned sites on foot or in a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions and security violations.
• Prepares logs or reports as required for the site.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, and other conditions following established procedures.
• Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements.
