The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a crucial role in providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need. This position requires a high level of professionalism, compassion, and medical expertise to ensure the safety and well-being of patients during critical situations. Job Description: Baptist Health is looking for a part-time (12 hours per week), night shift EMT to join our Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Lexington! Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify injuries, illnesses, or medical emergencies. Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and their families during transport to medical facilities. Monitor vital signs and adjust treatment interventions as necessary to ensure patient stability and comfort. Lifting and moving of patients to and from stretchers, frequently lifting more than 250lbs in a team setting. Safely transport patients to medical facilities using designated EMS vehicles. Communicate effectively with receiving medical personnel to provide a detailed patient handover and report on the patient's condition, treatment provided, and any pertinent medical history. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, treatments, and transportation activities. Complete patient care reports (PCRs) in a timely manner, documenting all relevant information. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and agencies to ensure continuity of care. Ensure that all EMS equipment and supplies are properly stocked, maintained, and functional at all times. Perform routine checks and inspections of EMS vehicles to verify operational readiness and compliance with safety standards. Report any equipment malfunctions or vehicle deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
