About The Position
CorrectHealth currently has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as a E mergency Medical Technician ( EMT) in Houma, LA! 12 hr shifts - 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Competitive Compensation offered up to $21/hr CorrectHealth is a multi-disciplinary medical organization that provides high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare inside the walls of correctional facilities. In doing so, we have developed the right way - the "Correct Way" as we like to call it - of providing correctional healthcare. Currently, CorrectHealth provides high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare services inside the walls of more than 40 correctional facilities throughout Georgia and Louisiana,
Requirements
- EMT Current certification to practice as a EMT in the state of employment.
- American Heart Association BLS.
- American Heart Association ACLS.
- Knowledge and ability to perform emergency care within scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing health care to inmates.
- Assist in performing intake physical examinations to all newly incarcerated inmates.
- Assist in the passing of medications to inmates.
- Assist in responding to medical emergencies.
- Advise appropriate personnel on any inmates that need to be classified as a medical risk.
- Comply with Medical Department directives pertaining to bloodborne and airborne pathogens and the disposal of contaminated materials and supplies.
- Practice proper medical record keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
