About The Position
CorrectHealth currently has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as an E mergency Medical Technician ( EMT) in Amite, LA! CorrectHealth is a multi-disciplinary medical organization that provides high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare inside the walls of correctional facilities. Currently, CorrectHealth provides high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare services inside the walls of more than 40 correctional facilities throughout Georgia and Louisiana,
Requirements
- EMT Current certification to practice as a EMT in the state of employment.
- American Heart Association BLS.
- American Heart Association ACLS.
- Knowledge and ability to perform emergency care within scope of practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing health care to inmates.
- Assist in performing intake physical examinations to all newly incarcerated inmates.
- Assist in the passing of medications to inmates.
- Assist in responding to medical emergencies.
- Advise appropriate personnel on any inmates that need to be classified as a medical risk.
- Comply with Medical Department directives pertaining to bloodborne and airborne pathogens and the disposal of contaminated materials and supplies.
- Practice proper medical record keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
