About The Position

An EMT, or Emergency Medical Technician, responds to emergency situations by stabilizing patients before taking them to a medical care facility. Their main duties include transporting patients to hospitals, driving emergency vehicles safely and responsibly and quickly responding to calls made by Dispatchers. EMT's can work in a variety of settings but typically work in the Emergency Room hospital area.

Requirements

  • High School education is required along with completion of a state approved formal training program.
  • Current EMT certification required.
  • CEVO ambulance certificate often required.
  • Valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency situations and stabilize patients.
  • Transport patients to hospitals.
  • Drive emergency vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Quickly respond to calls made by Dispatchers.
