About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a critical role in providing immediate medical care and transportation to patients in emergency situations. EMTs are often the first responders to accidents, medical emergencies, and disasters, delivering essential pre-hospital care while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, teamwork, and effective communication skills.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Basic Life Support techniques and protocols.
  • Experience with medication administration in emergency situations.
  • Strong triage skills to assess patient needs quickly and accurately.
  • Familiarity with working in a Level I Trauma Center environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient transport and equipment handling.
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) usage in emergency scenarios.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for operating emergency vehicles.
  • Solid understanding of physiology to aid in effective patient assessment and treatment.
  • Experience working in Emergency Rooms (ER) or Urgent Care settings is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' conditions and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Administer medications as directed by medical protocols or supervising personnel.
  • Perform triage to prioritize patient treatment based on the severity of their condition.
  • Transport patients safely to a Level I Trauma Center or appropriate medical facility while monitoring their vital signs.
  • Assist with heavy lifting of patients and equipment during emergencies.
  • Utilize Durable Medical Equipment (DME) effectively during patient care.
  • Drive emergency vehicles in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of human physiology to understand patient conditions better and provide appropriate care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in Emergency Rooms (ER) and Urgent Care settings to ensure continuity of care.
