About The Position

Desert Valley Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and/or physician. The EMT will assist with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice and help maintain a safe environment while performing under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse. This position is part of a fast-paced work environment dedicated to serving an underserved community.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire, required.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

Nice To Haves

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
