About The Position
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are essential healthcare professionals trained to provide care for the sick or injured in emergency medical settings. This role involves responding to emergency calls, performing medical services, and transporting patients to medical facilities while continuing to provide care during transport. EMTs must react quickly and competently, as people's lives often depend on their actions. They are required to maintain a calm and reassuring demeanor, even in extremely stressful situations, to effectively assess medical conditions and perform lifesaving procedures as per their training. In addition to emergency response, EMTs are responsible for safely transferring patients onto stretchers and lifting them into ambulances when necessary. This requires physical strength and the ability to lift, push, or pull at least 100 pounds. The role demands a high level of professionalism, as EMTs are often the first point of contact for patients in critical situations. They must be well-versed in basic life support (BLS) protocols and maintain their skills through ongoing education and training.
