About The Position

Located where miles of breathtaking ocean views meet dense coastal forests, Adventist Health Mendocino County has a rich history serving community members on the coast since 1971. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and offer a range of services in Fort Bragg. The Mendocino Coast offers a small-town atmosphere and is known for its natural beauty, from the smallest to the tallest redwoods in the world, to glass bottom beaches and the only oceanfront botanical gardens in the United States. With whale watching, fishing, hiking trails and many more outdoor adventures readily available, this coastal region is a place to immerse yourself in its landscape and history. Job Summary: Assists in providing direct, and in-direct patient care under direction of appropriate personnel or leadership (e.g. registered nurses and providers). Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation. Acts as a clinical resource for students, those being oriented and volunteers.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
• Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required in CA
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT): Required
• Certified Ambulance Driver (CAD): Required
• California DMV Medical Examiner (DMVME): Required

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation within the EMT scope of practice.
• Collects, records and communicates basic patient data, current and changing status as needed.
• Cleans, inspects, assembles and sterilizes trays and equipment in accordance with established departmental procedures.
• Takes immediate and appropriate action upon occurrence of emergency situation within job description and policies.
• Participates in continuing/advanced education which demonstrates employee commitment to improving capabilities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
