About The Position

The Emergency Medical Responder Trainee position offers a unique opportunity to enter the healthcare field by participating in an accelerated training program to become a certified Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) in just 10 days. Trainees will be employed full-time while attending classes, which are fully funded by Acadian Ambulance Service, in exchange for a one-year commitment to work as an EMR post-certification.

Requirements

• Must be selected for the training program to be considered a full-time employee.
• Commit to working as an EMR for Acadian Ambulance for 1 year after completing the class and passing the certification exam.
• Must be able to work full-time during the training period from 8a - 5p.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a healthcare or emergency services environment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Attend an accelerated EMR class Monday - Friday for 10 days.
• Complete the training program and pass the certification exam to become an Emergency Medical Responder.
• Obtain a Louisiana class D chauffeur's driver's license to work as an EMR.
• Participate in a physical lift test and pass a drug screen, background, and motor vehicle check as part of the employment process.
