About The Position

AmeriPro Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for the Louisville, KY area. As the Emergency Medical Dispatcher, you are responsible for receiving and prioritizing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate resources, and providing pre-arrival instructions. This role requires strong judgment, calmness under pressure, and the ability to coordinate field units efficiently while maintaining accurate records. Available Shifts: Cali 12; 1900-0700

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months of experience handling high call volumes (dispatch, public safety, healthcare, or call center)
• Ability to type at least 45 WPM with accuracy
• Ability to obtain and maintain EMD certification within 1–3 months of hire

Nice To Haves

• Basic medical terminology knowledge
• Experience in EMS, fire, police, or other public safety setting
• Prior use of Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) or radio communications systems

Responsibilities

• Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch crews and monitor their routes and status.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions and crisis intervention.
• Communicate critical details to ambulance crews.
• Operate multi-line phone and radio systems.
• Enter call data into the CAD system and maintain records.
• Verify and input insurance information accurately.
• Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
