Emergency Management Subject Matter Expert 1 - DHS/FEMA Support
About The Position
The Emergency Management Subject Matter Expert 1 will provide evaluation, consultation, and guidance on specialized areas related to emergency management training, contributing to course reviews and audits. Provides entry-level subject-matter support in all-hazards emergency preparedness and training. Under supervision, assists with basic data collection and research for curricula reviews; supports training delivery audits by gathering documentation and observations; helps prepare materials and logistics for Review Boards; and contributes to administrative tasks while gaining exposure to NTED Training Partners Program (TPP) processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or under general direction.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- High school diploma required; additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the diploma.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in emergency management or first responder training.
- Familiarity with DHS/FEMA programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide evaluation, consultation, guidance, or direction in specialized areas of expertise.
- Consult with project teams, customers, and government officials on process, content, and deliverables.
- Contribute content, identify best practices, and translate subject matter terminology.
- Offer recommendations verbally and in writing.
- Function in an oversight capacity for research projects, educational activities, staff evaluations, and liaison activities.
