About The Position
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM) is recruiting for an Emergency Management Specialist 2! This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit at a range 16. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. As our new team member for the EMS 2 position, you will play a vital role within the Disaster Assistance Section of the Public Assistance Branch, focusing on implementing and coordinating grant-funded disaster recovery programs across both state and federal disaster declarations. You will be actively involved in leading and participating in disaster response and recovery field operations, ensuring efficient deployment of resources and support to affected areas, thereby strengthening the state's disaster resilience and recovery efforts.
