In this role, you will Lead and advance emergency preparedness initiatives across the NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital enterprise by overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of Emergency Management programs, operations, logistics, and special projects to ensure organizational resilience. Develops and maintains regional response and recovery plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, serves as a primary liaison to regulatory and emergency management agencies, and works closely with leadership to optimize grant funding, establish enterprise standards, and deliver high-quality deliverables, training and exercises that strengthen system‑wide readiness, safety, and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a healthcare related or emergency preparedness position; preferably in an emergency setting
  • Experience or exposure to emergency preparedness operations, efforts, and planning
  • FEMA IS 100, 200, 700 and 800, ICS 300 and 400, HSEEP (within one-year)
  • Demonstrated leadership in the establishment of standards (e.g. bioterrorism, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and desire for superior work ensuring excellence in output
  • Works independently with minimal supervision while consistently delivering accurate, high-quality results
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with effective presentation capabilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in high-performance environments while effectively working across functions within a matrixed organization
  • Demonstrates composure, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindset in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and evolving goals.
