About The Position

ATI is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Emergency Management Planner. This position serves as an expert on occupant emergency planning and emergency preparedness training activities. Duties of the Emergency Management Planner include briefing client representatives on occupant emergency planning requirements; providing technical expertise to stakeholders daily; and developing, reviewing, and coordinating facility-specific emergency preparedness plans. Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience in emergency planning and preparedness or Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or related field.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain clearance; Candidates must be able to work independently in a secure or sensitive environment
  • Knowledge of national level emergency management policies and federal regulations, including GSA CFR 41 Part 102-74 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.
  • Expertise in developing, critically reviewing, coordinating, and synchronizing Departmental and interagency plans and strategies in response to all hazards and threats.
  • Experience in developing appropriate training, drills, and exercises to test occupant emergency plans.
  • Subject matter knowledge on how to properly coordinate and address emergency planning requests for individuals having access or functional needs.
  • Solid writing skills and ability to write under pressure with short deadlines. A relevant writing sample will be required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports prioritization of plans and planning efforts from development through execution for all threats and hazards.
  • Provides development and ongoing engagement of collaborative planning teams, including developing meeting invites, agendas, talking points, presentations, and notes.
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations of occupant emergency plans for validity and conformity to existing plans, policies, best practices, and mandatory compliance requirements.
  • Formulates and coordinates program initiatives, provides expert advice and program assistance, and prepares and coordinates responses to various tasks and assignments from leadership.
  • Develops and delivers briefings to senior Department officials, domestic personnel, and other stakeholders on the total spectrum of the Department’s domestic occupant emergency planning.
  • Applies knowledge of emergency management concepts in preparedness and planning.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in occupant emergency planning, emergency preparedness planning, and/or operational planning.
