About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Emergency Management Planner to be based in Oakland, CA. This is a part time variable position, open to remote location within the US JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Works as a member of project teams to support clients' planning efforts. Leads individual tasks within overall projects. Collaborates directly with clients to advance project work. Applies understanding of national, state and local emergency management frameworks and best practices to specific regional and local initiatives. Assesses clients' capabilities and needs regarding emergency management, to enhance their response/recovery frameworks. Develops and update emergency management plans, hazard mitigation plans, and other response/recovery plans. Develops and update business continuity plans and continuity of operations plans. Develops and deliver training programs and materials, to improve agencies' and jurisdictions' understanding of emergency management principles and practices. Plans and conducts HSEEP-compliant emergency management exercises. Prepares after-action reports, following exercises and real-world incidents.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field
  • 10+ years of emergency management planning experience or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of emergency management, safety, hazard assessment/mitigation principles and practices.
  • Experience in preparing emergency and/or hazard mitigation documents.
  • Knowledge of federal and State of California emergency management frameworks (NRF, NIMS, ICS, SEMS)
  • Knowledge of FEMA exercise planning and conduct framework (HSEEP)
  • Familiarity with State of California and Northern California emergency management plans and practices
  • Experience supporting state and local agencies in emergency management planning efforts.
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials, workshops, and exercises.
  • Proficient with standard office software (MS Office, etc.)
  • Ability to work well in teams and independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
