  • Supplies direction, support and guidance to Senior Management and staff pertaining to the Hospitals policies, emergency management and safety programs.
  • Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Hospital's Emergency Management and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepares for and directs the actions of the hospital community in the event of an emergency.
  • Assists with and manages hospital wide and department policies and procedures.
  • Keeps the organization updated on AHCA, TJC, CMS, and OSHA requirements, particularly the Environment of Care rules under TJC.
  • Manages the hospital policy and Safety Data Sheet databases.
  • Provides gap analysis and research for special projects related to compliance.
  • Conducts research and stays up to date on regulatory compliance measures.
  • Maintains required documentation for compliance.
  • Maintains a consistently high level of quality throughout the department in services provided to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Completes special tasks as assigned.
  • Facilitates safety and emergency management training.
  • Collaborates with Education staff to design and implement needed education modules for new employees and continuing education.
  • Master's degree in Emergency Management, Safety, Health Administration or Education.
  • Five plus years' experience in a Regulatory Role involving safety oversight, emergency planning and policy development.
  • Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) certification.
  • OSHA 30 hours General Industry certification.
  • OSHA 30 hours Construction industry certification.
  • HAZWOPER 40 hours certification.
  • FEMA ICS: 100, 200, 700, 800; Advanced: ICS 300, 400 certifications.
