About The Position

The Full-Time Emergency Management Intern position at WSP USA offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in emergency management while working alongside senior staff. This internship is part of the WSP Summer Internship Program, which spans 12 weeks starting on May 19th, 2025. Interns will support emergency response and recovery missions, assisting communities affected by disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires, and will have the chance to develop technical, social, and ethical skills in a real-world setting.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Emergency Management or related field.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership and mentors.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Nice To Haves

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related Masters or PhD program.
• FEMA online certifications.
• Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of tasks related to emergency management.
• Learn basic principles of Emergency Management tied to natural disaster response.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
