About the position
The Emergency Services Coordinator position will be designated on call periods to serve as the primary point of contact for state level coordination of emergency services resources. The selected candidate will be responsible to maintain professional working relationships with personnel at all levels within the organization as well as across State government. The Emergency Services Coordinator works with the emergency services resources on coordination of missions requested for response and maintains situational awareness throughout the completion of the mission. The Emergency Services Coordinator serves as an Emergency Services Coordinator for the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) activations and coordinates emergency service requests for resources as needed during disaster operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for state level coordination of emergency services resources.
- Maintain professional working relationships with personnel at all levels within the organization and across State government.
- Coordinate missions requested for response and maintain situational awareness throughout the completion of the mission.
- Serve as an Emergency Services Coordinator for the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) activations.
- Coordinate emergency service requests for resources during disaster operations.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of emergency management principles.
- Experience with interpreting state or federal legislation and regulations.
- Experience in developing or delivering training programs.
- Documented experience with maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in the response phase of emergency management, emergency services, search and rescue, and/or hazardous materials.
- Experience planning, organizing response programs in executing and completing complex and highly technical programs.
