About The Position

As a division of Cal OES, CSTI is developing a new disaster recovery training section to ensure California is prepared to navigate the wide variety of federal and state assistance for local government, individuals, businesses, and other entities which is offered following a disaster event. As a CSTI Emergency Management Coordinator/Instructor II in the Recovery Training Unit, you will play a crucial role in California's all-hazards readiness. You will work closely within the team to plan, organize, schedule, and conduct new and existing training courses, as well as conduct research, manage the delivery of existing courses, present instruction, and support the training effort of the Unit. You will collaborate with fellow team members to identify training gaps, assist in the prioritization of new training courses/exercises to be developed and existing courses to be delivered, and managing review and revision of outdated course materials due to statutory, regulatory, and policy changes issued by the federal and state departments charged with issuing disaster recovery assistance. Your work will be essential in delivering preparedness training before disasters strike, along with just in time training specific to the needs and impacts created by specific disaster events.
