The UM-Flint Department of Public Safety (DPS) is a department within the University's broader Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) and is committed to protecting and serving our campus community. The Emergency Management (EM) and Infrastructure Security Coordinator facilitates partnerships and coordination of emergency planning and homeland security efforts with internal U-M units and local, state, and federal partners. In collaboration with the DPSS emergency management team and DPS personnel, the role supports a comprehensive all-hazards approach to preparing for, protecting against, and responding to various emergencies and risks that could impact our people, operations, and environment. This position's primary reporting location is the Flint campus, and it will be a direct report to the UM-Flint Chief of Police. The position will work closely with the DPSS Associate Director of Emergency Management to integrate the emergency management program throughout the university and will serve as a subject matter expert in developing and enhancing physical security plans and capabilities for infrastructure and facilities on campus. The EM and Infrastructure Security Coordinator will be expected to regularly engage with faculty, staff, community members, and external partners to further enhance protection, prevention, and preparedness efforts. This position requires the candidate to successfully pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening. The candidate should be able to obtain a federal security clearance.
