What You'll Do as a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst Formulate, revise & implement policies & procedures that deal with establishing & maintaining situational awareness on a specific hazard, event or disaster for the receipt of time sensitive information; Create policies & procedures to determine proper protocol for acquiring, analyzing & disseminating hazard or disaster information to state, local & federal emergency response & other officials; Coordinate notification & response with local, state & federal emergency management & homeland security officials; Develop analyses on all aspects of disasters & potential hazards; collect, research, & analyze disaster information from numerous resources to determine potential hazard level; Develop, monitor, & analyze informational databases, spreadsheets, & reports to assess the magnitude & scope of impact of an emergency or disaster; Collect relevant disaster information via telephone, written correspondence & other redundant communication mediums with State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) partners at all levels of government; Monitor, collect, analyze, & disseminate situational awareness information & situational awareness reports (e.g., daily reports, Incident Reports & Advisories) for the State of Ohio; Click here to see full position description Emergency Management Agency Coordinates activities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters, both natural and man-made. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASSIFICATION AFTER EMPLOYMENT\: If required, must obtain LEADS certification; must renew LEADS certification biannually. Additionally, some positions at Department of Public Safety must be able to obtain & maintain secret level federal security clearance. UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May require some travel. Working hours will include nights, weekends and holidays, based on operational need. Position also requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Secret level Security Clearance. This position is essential, meaning the duties this job performs are critical to the continued operations of the Ohio Department of Public Safety during a public safety emergency (OAC 123\: 1-46-01 & DAS Directive HR-D-11). This position will be required to report for duty during any public safety emergency.
