They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care. Shifts Available: 6:45 pm – 7:15am Status Available: Full Time, benefit eligible (72 hours per pay period – every two weeks) Weekend and holiday rotation required Services include an award-winning 24-hour emergency department, inpatient and outpatient surgery, including joint replacement, a variety of diagnostic and outpatient services and over 300 physicians serving patients. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
  • Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

  • The ER Tech, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs.
  • They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.
  • The ER Tech assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.
  • An ER Tech will collect and send specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters.
  • They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
