About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) plays a crucial role in facilitating timely and effective patient care under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. This part-time position requires the technician to assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, which is essential for enhancing the operations of the emergency department. The ED Tech is responsible for delivering patient care that aligns with the model and philosophy of relationship-based care, ensuring that patients receive compassionate and respectful treatment during their time in the emergency department. As part of a nonprofit regional healthcare network, PIH Health serves approximately 3 million residents across Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the San Gabriel Valley. The organization is recognized nationally for its excellence in patient care and experience, operating multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities. The ED Tech will be part of a team that is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services, including emergency services, urgent care, and specialized medical treatments. The role requires effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as the ED Tech will interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Organizational skills are also essential to ensure that patient care tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. The technician will be trained in specific procedures, such as setting up and running 12-lead EKGs, and will be expected to maintain competency in these skills throughout their employment.
