About The Position

Piedmont Henry Emergency Department 75000-90000 visits per year Licensed for 59 beds 3/4:1 Patient to RN Ratio Level III trauma center Triage and Assessment of patient complaint Medical screening exam by a qualified medical provider and treatment plan based on assessment Appropriate Drug Therapy Management of critically ill patients Patient discharge education Fully Accredited Stroke Center Recently added 18 bed Cardiac Observation Unit that works closely with ED Multidisciplinary team in the ED includes: ED MD, ED APP, ED RN, C-RN, Flow Coordinator, Unit Based Educator, RN, ED Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians, Radiology staff, Respiratory staff, Patient Experience and Patient Access. . Responsibilities The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Possess the knowledge and ability to provide care to the age specific population to which assigned.

Requirements

• One of the following:
• Required Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required
