Base salary starts at: $17.30/hr.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be BLS certified upon hire or within 60 days of hire and must maintain certification throughout employment with IMH.
- Must certify in nonviolence crisis intervention (MANDT) or obtain within the first six months of hire and must maintain certification throughout employment with IMH.
- Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate effective listening skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
- Possess exceptional problem solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
- Ability to learn new computer software programs.
- Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
- Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.
Nice To Haves
- At least six months of experience of unit secretary duties/responsibilities preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the admissions process.
- Transcribes, utilizes and implements protocols and physician orders as directed by RN.
- Coordinates with health care team to provide patient care, treatment and services.
- Functions as communication center in emergency situations.
- Assists in clerical duties on the unit.
- Other duties as assigned.
