About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician at University Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the Emergency Center staff by assisting with patient care and treatment procedures. This position involves direct interaction with patients, including taking vital signs and transporting them as needed, ensuring a high standard of service and care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Valid Texas EMT certification or equivalent experience (3 years experience in a comparable emergency department or 2 years experience in the military with similar experience) is preferred.
• Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.

Responsibilities

• Reports and records direct and indirect patient care data.
• Assists Emergency Center staff with patient preparation and treatment procedures for both acute and non-acute illnesses and injuries.
• Takes patients' vital signs.
• Transports patients to other locations as required.
