About The Position

Under close supervision, provides technical support for physicians and nurses in the Emergency Department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Currently licensed as a certified nursing assistant or emergency medical technician in the state of Missouri.
• Minimum of six (6) months direct patient care experience required.
• This individual should be knowledgeable regarding growth and development and assessing the physical and psychological needs of patients in the following stages of life: neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatric.
• Current BLS required.
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy.
• Perform 12 lead EKGs.
• Transport patients to other departments.
• Place patients on cardiac and vital sign monitor.
• Perform Point of Care Testing.
• Obtain lab specimens and documents all care/procedures provided.
• Clean equipment and workspace
• Order/stock department supplies
• Clerical unit tasks as required/requested
• Demonstrate positive customer service relations
• Routinely participates in QI projects and encourages department to continuously improve.
• Assist co-workers as needed/requested
• Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Perform other essential duties as assigned
