About The Position

Under the direction of the Emergency Department director manager, charge nurse, and staff nurses this position requires the ability to be self-directed and encompasses providing direct supportive care to patients by performing designated and/or ordered interventions and procedures within the scope of practice. Additionally, this position incorporates departmental readiness duties including but not limited to stocking, QI testing, verification of operational patient care apparatuses (Suction, O2, etc.).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• The emergency room (ED) technician is an individual with training and/or experience in the area of unlicensed assistive caregiver in the emergency room environment.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing, prioritizing, and completing work assignments and other duties as assigned.
• Above average computer skills.
• Certification as an emergency medical technician (EMT), nursing assistant (CNA), or medical assistant (CMA) is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required.
• CPI required within six months of hire or transfer.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
