About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Complete Clinical Competencies required for assigned area before working off orientation.
• CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, Current RN or LPN student, or preferred one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the care of patients as delegated by the RN, Physician, or Mid-level provider.
• Provide secretary/clerical assistance.
• Perform vital signs, accucheck, ambulation, simple (non-sterile) dressing changes, toileting assistance, EKG’s, patient transport to other departments.
• Answer the phone, faxing, preparing charts.
