Get to Know Your Team: Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital, and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current National or Idaho EMT licensure or current LPN licensure in Idaho.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to nursing and physician staff in the Emergency Department by performing tasks that assist in the treatment and care of patients with illnesses or injuries, taking into account individual patients’ physical or age-related needs.
  • Provides direct personal care under the supervision of the nurse within the scope of practice of the PCT.
  • Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and timeliness.
  • Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources.
  • Works with the ED team to maintain equipment and supplies and adequate inventory levels.
  • Assumes responsibility for meeting annual in-service requirements and ongoing personal development.
  • Will rotate into and cover the Unit Clerk position, as needed.
