About The Position
Renders direct and indirect patient care under direction of appropriate licensed personnel. Facilitates care to meet patient's daily living activity needs by providing clerical, physical and emotional support while assisting licensed personnel in management of critically ill patients. Assists with workflow of unlicensed assistive personnel in the department. All job qualifications listed below indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently:
Requirements
- High school grad or equivalent.
- American Heart Association issued CPR or BLS.
- Emergency (SBCH): Emergency Medical Technician certification or Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Certification.
- Emergency (GVCH)hired after March 2015: Emergency Medical Technician certification or Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Certification.
- Emergency (SYVCH)hired after May 1, 2013: Emergency Medical Technician certification or Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record) and computer order entry.
- Patient Care Tech or equivalent experience in an acute care, ED or prehospital setting.
