About The Position

Department - Emergency Department Night Shift Position Summary: Provides consistent leadership of nursing personnel and supports patient focused collaborative care in a shared governance environment. Responsible for coordinating, facilitating and integrating the optimal provision of service on each unit. In conjunction with this, other responsibilities include providing clinical expertise coaching/mentoring of staff and customer service. Assumes responsibility for the nursing units when Clinical Managers are not present. What the ED Supervisor will need: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. RN Licensed to practice in the State of Michigan. Two years' experience as RN Staff Nurse with demonstrated leadership required, preferably work experience concurrently in appropriate specialty area. Ability to meet all behaviors of the RN Staff Nurse Job description. Ongoing continuing education required with national certification preferred. BLS certification and required CEUs for re- licensure. What the ED Supervisor will do: Actively supports the organizational and unit strategic goals, programs and activities. Coordinates the provision of patient focused care in collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team. Provides clinical leadership related to the development, use and evaluation of care management tools. Facilitates the use of the Customer Quality Improvement (CQI) process for the identification of opportunities to improve the unit care delivery process with development of appropriate plants to implement the changes to that process. Develops daily staffing plans that support the optimum provision of service in accordance with quality, budget and regulatory requirements. Monitors daily staffing plans to identify and resolve variances related to productivity. Provides appropriate support to staff in response to changes in the unit workload, patient census and acuity. Demonstrates excellent communication skills for problem resolution, conflict resolution and conflict management with customers and team members. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
