Day to day as a Emergency Department REGISTERED NURSE As a Full-Time Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Minden Medical Center, you can expect a dynamic and challenging day-to-day experience. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing patients, triaging cases, and providing critical care in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans while ensuring a customer-focused approach that prioritizes patient safety and comfort. Daily tasks may include administering medications, performing procedures, and documenting patient progress, all while maintaining a calm and empathetic demeanor. Your expected schedule will primarily consist of night shifts, allowing you to engage with a diverse range of cases during peak hours. You'll be a vital part of a high-performing team, contributing to innovative solutions in emergency care. What you need to be successful To thrive as a Full-Time Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Minden Medical Center, a range of essential skills and qualifications is necessary. Prior experience in an Emergency Department or Medical/Surgical setting for at least one year is preferred, ensuring you're familiar with the fast-paced demands of emergency care. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are crucial for assessing patient needs and making swift medical decisions. You must possess a valid AHA BLS certification, with ACLS and De-Escalation training required within your first month of employment. Additionally, obtaining PALS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications within the first six months will enhance your capability to handle pediatric patients, emergency situations, and trauma care effectively. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and various medical software tools is also important for accurate documentation and communication within the healthcare team. Your commitment to ongoing learning and excellence will be vital to your success in this role. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: One year ED or Med/Surg experience preferred AHA BLS required.
