About The Position

The position is for a full-time Physician Assistant in the Emergency Medicine department at Advocate Health. The role involves 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a pay range of $57.85 - $86.80. The Physician Assistant will assess, diagnose, and manage treatment plans for patients, ensuring appropriate care based on age, acuity, and clinical condition. Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, providing health promotion and disease management education, and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. The role also requires participation in quality and safety initiatives, education of new team members, and maintaining productivity and quality metrics.

Requirements

  • Active PA license in state(s) of practice.
  • Active PA national board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire.
  • Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if applicable).
  • Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant.
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and onboard new team members and students.
