The Nursing Staff Development Coordinator works assigned shifts with potential to include weekends. This position will provide direct patient care in addition to conducting unit-based educational programs/classes, provide on-boarding support for newly hired licensed and unlicensed staff working in patient care areas, documentation review, mentorship, coaching, follow up, and other unit needs. The Nursing Staff Development Coordinator maintains collaborative relationships with staff and the nursing leadership team for assigned departments. The Nursing Staff Development Coordinator serves as consultant/resource specialist for pathology and emergency nursing care; assists with education and learning activities designed to assist nursing personnel to acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes to meet job requirements. This role incorporates knowledge and skills related to clinical nursing theory and evidenced based practice, leadership, adult learning principles and educational standards and regulatory requirements. Serves as the unit based clinical resource for assigned areas.
