About The Position

We are seeking an Emergency Room Clinical Supervisor, also referred to as an Emergency Department RN Supervisor or Emergency Services RN Supervisor. The ER RN Supervisor The Clinical ER RN Supervisor collaborates with the unit Director or Manager to support and oversee departmental operations, including staff supervision, training, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, communication, and ensuring quality patient care and efficient function, while assuming administrative responsibilities in their absence. ER RN Supervisor will supervise and support nursing staff, coordinate patient care with the healthcare team and manage critical incidents. Requirements

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
  • In Paramedic Base Station ED, MICN, within 12 months of hire.
  • EDAP Certified Facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 & 2 within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting preferred.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certificate within 12 months of hire and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily ER nursing operations in the emergency department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient workflow
  • Supervise and support ER nursing staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Coordinate patient care activities between nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members to optimize treatment and patient flow
  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards specific to emergency care
  • Manage critical incidents and assists in handling complex or high-acuity patient situations
  • Communicate with patients, families, and staff to address concerns and provide updates on care processes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness planning for the department
