About The Position

Alleghany Highlands Community Services provides services and support to individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position involves face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention and assessments, determining the least restrictive treatment option. The position will work closely with law enforcement, magistrates, private providers, hospital medical staff, and other community stakeholders. You will be joining a team of Mental Health Professionals working to make a difference to those experiencing an emotional crisis.

Requirements

• Master's Degree that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Master's program) (required); Bachelor's Degree accepted depending on experience and staffing plan needs.
• Outpatient or inpatient clinical mental health and/or substance use treatment with crisis experience preferred
• QMHP required, LPC, LCSW, LCP, or Resident in Counseling preferred
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face pre-hospitalization screening, securing psychiatric bed space as appropriate
• Provide crisis intervention to clients and their families, either by telephone or in person
• Provide diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine the level of treatment and/or referrals to other community-based services
• May perform other duties in the clinic related to mental health outpatient services
