Our Emergency Certified Special Education Teacher position is a great opportunity for aspiring teachers and/or people with experience working as a PCA, Paraprofessional, Therapeutic Staff Support, Direct Support Professional, Group Home Management, Behavioral Technician, RBT and/or experience working with individuals diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Autism andor other Disabilities who possess a Bachelor Degree and are currently enrolled in a Master’s in Education program. Salary: Emergency Certified Teacher: annual compensation package of $52,500 plus a $2,500 Sign-On BONUS What we offer our Emergency Certified Special Education Teachers: Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday: 8am-3pm (Bi-Weekly Pay) This position requires a commitment to you to be actively pursuing your Master’s Degree and Certification. Requirements

  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and meet other physical requirement standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Master's in Education program

Responsibilities

  • Assessing the functioning level of each student and developing and implementing objectives based on this assessment.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the program and participating in the students’ interdisciplinary IEP team meeting.
  • Writes functional educational goals based on individual student needs in accordance with state laws, federal laws and Woods Services policies.
  • Prepares and implements daily written lessons plans.
  • Developing teaching methods and techniques as determined to be appropriate for each student in accordance with the approved IEP/IHP/ISP and client assessments.
  • Using objective data collection systems and approved Progress Monitoring systems to help ensure that students are making adequate progress on IEP goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements individual student behavioral programs, as appropriate and in accordance with Woods Behavior Management policy.
  • Maintains and utilizes adaptive/assistive equipment and devices.
  • Implements, directs and assists with proper feeding, toileting, positioning and care of students.
  • Completes all required paperwork in accordance with Woods and program policies and procedures.
  • Assists with student transportation, before and after school, if necessary.
  • Directs activities of instructional aides.
  • Responsible for directing and coaching all staff members in the classroom.
