Job Summary: Assists nurses, physicians, and mid-level practitioners in the safe delivery of patient care. Assists in coordination of patient care with other departments. Assists in the maintenance of a well-stocked, no expired supplies/equipment, and clean Emergency Department. Reports: RN, Assistant Nurse Managers Supervises: None

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum: six (6) months patient care experience for a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). No experience required for Nursing Students who have completed their 1st semester of clinical rotations; or Florida Licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Emergency Center North East (ECNE) may require secondary position as Transport EMT-Job Code 446202.
  • All employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, background check, reference verification, health assessment, and credential/license verification.
