About The Position

The Emergency Care Attendant Trainee position at Acadian Ambulance is designed for motivated individuals who wish to provide essential pre-hospital basic life support care and transportation for the sick and injured. The role involves completing a 60-hour training course and passing the National Registry examination, with all associated costs covered by the company. The ECA will work alongside an EMT and is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient patient transport while adhering to established protocols and standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State certification as an Emergency Care Attendant as per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with employees and managers.
• Knowledge of company protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies.

• Experience in emergency medical services or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Conduct careful examinations of patients for signs and symptoms of illness/injury.
• Administer prompt and efficient basic life support care within the limits of licensure or certification.
• Provide safe and efficient transport of patients in the ambulance to medical facilities.
• Conduct regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment is present and in working order.
• Document and report all needed repairs to the proper maintenance departments.
• Operate and drive the ambulance safely, following company driving guidelines.
• Attend all mandatory meetings as scheduled.
• Complete assigned station and station grounds duties.
• Order supplies and equipment to replenish inventories as needed.
• Complete all required company reports and logs.
