About The Position

About the Position: To provide advanced support to the team members and clients of the Emergency and Critical Care department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years old.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a veterinary technician in an emergency veterinary hospital setting preferred. Equivalent experience as a liaison accepted.
  • Understanding of veterinary medical terms and disease process.
  • Ability to support and foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and empathy.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Detail-oriented and reliable.
  • Proficient at working with digital records and using Microsoft Word & Excel.

  • Excellent client communication skills.
  • Well-spoken, professional, approachable, and maintain a positive outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate professional, courteous, clear and effective communication to the ECC doctors, clients and staff.
  • Act as a point of contact for the ECC service.
  • Assist ECC doctors with client communication regarding both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Maintain ECC pending labs. Ensure results are returned to the doctor and reported to the client in a timely manner.
  • Work independently while keeping oneself organized and meeting all deadlines.
  • Support clients and medical teams through all stages of patient care, including hospital admissions, visits, discharges, and end-of-life appointments, while ensuring clear communication and compassionate service.
  • Possess a high level of medical knowledge.
  • Navigate difficult conversations and high stress situations with tact and professionalism.
